What works

The package installs (using some workarounds).

Filling out forms, going through the wizard, saving, loading and printing to PDF all appear to work. So does netfiling.

What does not

The program is sluggish.

You have to jump through some hoops to get the program installed.

What was not tested

Complicated forms/returns.

Additional Comments

The trick to getting this installing smoothly is to unpack the installer into an MSI and CAB file, and then install the MSI. Running the installer directly fails with "Bad Command Line" messages. You need both .Net 2 and .Net 4 to install the program. It looks like corefonts and comctl32 are not needed any more, but I am not certain. I tested this on Xubuntu 14.04, 32 bit. Here were the steps that worked for me: wget chmod u+x winetricks winetricks dotnet20sp2 winetricks dotnet40 Download StudioTax2014.exe to ~/src, and extract it. The resulting files will be in the same folder as the installer. (I tried setting different paths but it did not work.) cd src StudioTax2014.exe /extract msiexec /i StudioTax.msi
