What works
Imports midi with choosable quantization. Easy flexibility of page layout (spacing of systems, barlines, all elements). Key transposition, not only of notes but of chords, eg. Em7b5. Printing to paper or pdf. Cut and paste of elements on page. First and second endings, coda marks, segnos, expressions (eg. ritardando), drumhead notes. Playback of composed music thru a midi keyboard via a MIDI to USB interface. Midi export to .mid.
What does not
Feature for entering lyrics and notes on the page doesn't work, although it's possible to edit pre-existing notes (created when running in Windows.)
Key transcription *may* be buggy - it appears that accidentals are dropped. This is a more serious deficiency
Workarounds
What was not tested
Using software synth for sound output (I use a midi-enabled keyboard).
Using keyboard for note input.Â

Additional Comments
Was somewhat unstable on Windows - tends to freeze after some complicated cut and paste or other operations, so save early and often. May be the same in Wine. Chord entry system clumsy - there's a grid of different chords in a window that cannot be resized to show all chords. However there is some keystroke navigation. The largest chord font is only 14 point - readable but not ideal.
