Installation via Steam
What does not
GTA 5 Launcher
What was not tested
Anything after the launcher, basically the game itself.
Launcher does not work due to pagefault trying to access dotnet 4.0, unfortunatly trying to install dotnet40 via winetricks does not work in 64bit prefix, launcher and game both require 64bit enviornment to run. Likely getting dotnet40 to work on wine 64bit is the key to this launcher working. Attempting to launch the game itself brings about another error (You would expect to get the error you get on windows, telling you to start the game via the gta launcher, however, you error out in Wine with this message: fixme:d3d11:D3D11CreateDevice adapter (nil), driver_type D3D_DRIVER_TYPE_HARDWARE, swrast (nil), flags 0, feature_levels (nil), levels 0, sdk_version 7, device (nil), feature_level 0x22fbd8, context (nil) stub! After that, the game crashes. This is likely due to lack of DX 11 support for Wine, as Wine only supports DX9, and you can't play GTA 5 with DX9 even on windows (i actually booted up my 64bit Win xp to try, and it says it needs dx11 to run), gta 5 will need to be ported to opengl for Linux to ever see playability or any kind.

If you are running wine-staging 2.21 you'll need to spam alt+enter when the game is loading to fix the blackscreen.
Currently it's the best to use the unofficial wine-staging 3.4: https://github.com/wine-stagin...
