Maintainers: About Maintainership
What works
- Installing game from DVDs
- Social Club starts after installing the newest version from Rockstar website (GTA_V_Launcher_1_0_877_1.exe to be precise)
- Logging into Social Club account
- Launching game (black screen and sound only)
What does not
- Updating game from Social Club - updating process wasn't starting, launcher was showing connection errors with Rockstar's servers (I updated game running this install on Windows). This can be caused by these two repeating errors from wininet:
fixme:wininet:HTTPREQ_ReadFile these dwFlags aren't implemented: 0x4 fixme:wininet:InternetSetOptionW INTERNET_OPTION_SEND/RECEIVE_TIMEOUT/DATA_SEND_TIMEOUT <a big number like 10000>
- Everything past loading screen - game crashes after music from loading screen stops. With safe mode you can hear menu music but game crashes(?) immediately with "out of game memory" error (music is still playing past that)
Workarounds
What was not tested
- Everything past loading screen including gameplay

Additional Comments
Using KDE Neon User Edition 5.9 with Linux 4.8.0-46 I used 64-bit wineprefix and wine version 2.5-staging from PlayOnLinux. If it's important, I linked drive_c directory to directory on NTFS filesystem (that's the way how I updated it on Windows). Installed components: - vcrun2008 (probably only this one is needed) - vcrun2010 - vcrun2012 - vcrun2013 - Mono for Windows (tried .NET Framework earlier - caused errors from rundll32.exe while running... anything) - wininet (actually didn't make any difference - tried that while trying to progress with updates) Social Club couldn't update by itself probably because of subprocess.exe crashing.
