All 11.x versions for 64-bit Windows XP (x86/x64). Specify exact version in test reports.
Installing to a 64 bit wineprefix, including passing WGA validation.
Starting (with workarounds) in full mode.
Adding directories to search and adding media files to the library.
Selecting media files to play from icons on the Library pane.
Playing video, if a codec pack is installed (I used K-Lite Basic).
What does not
The installer sometimes gets stuck endlessly installing the same component; workaround is to kill it and try again.
The installer reports failure at the end, and then crashes, but enough of WMP is installed to be functional.
The interface will be blank with builtin jscript; winetricks wsh56js is the workaround.
The top of the window will not be rendered properly and the menus won't work with builtin gdiplus; winetricks gdiplus is the workaround.
The app freezes on start unless wmpnssci.dll is disabled in winecfg. This dll controls the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service Control Interface, so presumably file sharing will not work (I didn't test it).
File=>open allows you to browse directories, but does not show any files.
Selecting media files to play from the Library pane when the view shows a list of files rather than icons crashes WMP.
Trying to play a video often crashes on start, but if you try again, the video may play (assuming the needed codec is installed).
Play/pause video controls don't work.
Sometimes crashes on exit.
What was not tested
Anything not mentioned above.
Playing video is hit-or-miss, but playing mp3 audio works well so long as the needed workarounds are applied (disable wmpnssci.dll, install wsh56js and gdiplus with winetricks).
