TurboTax 2015 install from CD doesn't work in 1.9.4.
by Gregory Holmberg on Thursday March 3rd 2016, 14:12
I did this:

export WINEARCH=win32
export WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.wine32/
winecfg # In Applications tab, set Windows Version to Windows 7
winetricks msxml3 # This will ask you to download a file in your web browser and copy it to a certain directory.
winetricks dotnet40 corefonts tahoma d3d9=disabled
wine "c:\\windows\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework\\v4.0.30319\\ngen.exe" update

Now in the file browser, go to the TurboTax 2015 CDROM, and double-click setup.exe.

Small dialog box, title: "Netfx40TestApplication.exe - .NET Framework Initia..."
Content: Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application.

Then the TurbTax 2015 Utility window opens, saying it is fixing four things, the last of which is "Fix .NET Framework 4.0 issues".

Then a window titled "Please Restart Your Computer". I click "Restart Now".

(Computer does not restart, of course.)

Windows close, then the small dialog box titled "NetfsTestApplication.exe ..." comes back,

and we are now in an endless loop.
