What works
Most things seems to work nice. Further tests are going on.
What does not
Small glitch = when I duplicate a part in a schematic editor near the bottom edge of the window this cloned part tries itself to "pan" down the working area in an uncontrollable way. The only thing to do is to stop the software and start again so one can loose an unsaved part of the job. So I must remember now not to clone schematic parts near the bottom edge of the Circuitmaker's schematic editor.

Additional Comments
I am not installing the CircuitMaker 2000 (shortly = CM2000) each time I use new fresh compiled Wine version. I am simply copying existing ~/.oldwine/drive_c/Program Files subdirectory where my installed CM2000 resided into fresh ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files subdirectory.

Downloading another odbc32.dll (not so good maybe, but wth).. put it in c\windows\system32\
winecfg:
Libraries Tab: Type "odbc32" in the box (without quotes), hit the Add button. Select the odbc32 entry, hit Edit.
Then change to Original (windows.. (the 2nd from above), then OK and Apply.

I did what I read here, and on other forums.. I installed unixODBC.
That made the errormsg on startup disappear, but I still got the error message when trying to do analog simulation.
I googled for 1 full evening but gave up. But then I tried this:
Programs-> Wine -> Configure Wine.
[program tab] Add program -> cirmaker.exe [ok]
select it, go to libraries tab.
Type odbc32 in the box and hit Add.
And voila, that made my analog simulations work. Hope this helps someone.

Maybe try to install unixodbc from Ubuntu repositories rather than compiling it yourself ?
Previous version of unixodbc should be fine, too.

All previous glitches I wrote about PCB editor are gone :-).
Still "SimView.dll" not loading while starting schematic editor is to be fixed. If so, the CM2000 would et a gold rating from me.

I had zero problems using it. Gold for sure.

Nice to hear Your attempt to try the CM2000 under linux :-)
I have several questions:
Did You check simulating circuits (in schematic part of the program)?
Did You install CM2000 via Wine or use executables from Windows Cm2000 installation ?

1. I installed Wine 0.9.18 from source on my Slackware current,
2. I used winecfg to set it in Win98 mode
3. I installed IE6 via ies4linux
4. I copied the CM2000 directory tree from Windows installation into home/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/
Is there any other setting that might help me get all the CM2000 functionality like Yours ? (Dll override, some Fedora-specific settings, maybe places where IE6 files reside ... or other ..)????

Problems:
"Runtime error 217 at 0003F702" on startup, can just click OK and the program works."
Analog simulation fails with "Unable to simulate because SimView.DLL was not successfully [sic] loaded.". Digital simulation works perfectly.
Some weird windowing glitches (unmoveable and unresizeable window in the center of the workspace) that can be fixing by loading a document and repeatedly maximizing and restoring the window.
