Additional Comments
The current build available for download from adobe will not install (see bug 42559) But a slightly older build does work. 1) First, download: https://ardownload2.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/AcrobatDC/1502320053/AcroRdrDC1502320053_en_US.exe 2) Create a new 32 bit, windows 7 wineprefix (e.g., "WINEPREFIX=/home/username/something WINEARCH=win32 winecfg" and make sure windows 7 is selected) 3) install mspatcha from winetricks (e.g., "winetricks mspatcha" from https://wiki.winehq.org/Winetricks) 4) run the installer (e.g., "WINEPREFIX=/home/username/something wine AcroRdrDC1502320053_en_US.exe) 6) reboot wine (""WINEPREFIX=/home/username/something wineboot") 7) set the prefix back to windows xp ("WINEPREFIX=/home/username/something winecfg") 8) Run acrobat as you would any other wine program. On first run, you can disable Adobe protected mode so it stops bugging you about it.

Submitting this installation guide for someone new to wine:
This is the only software that allows users to properly fill out XFA PDF forms. These forms are used by a lot of government agencies and other organizations. You cannot use the mobile versions of Adobe Reader to fill these forms either. You need a windows or Mac version to do this.
On Linux installing the windows Version of Adobe reader on wine allows you to get this ability.
