Playing World of Warcraft 6.1 (32 bit version) by running wow.exe with wine from a previously installed directory. The nvidia-346 driver and nvidia-prime for optimus systems allow the game to run in Direct X-11 mode.
What does not
The Battlenet installer starts, however, it experiences failures and terminates early and game files may not be downloaded. My solution was to copy an entire previously downloaded WoW directory to the C_drive and run the game files from there.
What was not tested
OpenGL, Nouveau, and Mesa drivers.
My solution to a failed battle-net installer is to copy the World of Warcraft directory from a working system. If your system has different hardware deleting the /WTF folder may allow the game to start with graphics. Known bug when attempting to run WoW in 32 bit mode: Starting the game with the 32 bit mode enabled from the battlenet launcher still loads the 64 bit version resulting in a crash. Solution:delete, move or rename wow-64.exe to run it in 32 bit mode.
