What works

Dictation works well in the supplied DragonPad.

Training works, saving training data works.

Adjusting the microphone volume works through alsamixer.

Select-and-say works within DragonPad. "Correct that," other commands also seem to work.

What does not

The program looks a bit quirky. During training, the visual representation doesn't quite keep up with the dictation, yet the training works flawlessly.

The "acoustic optimizer" does not work.

What was not tested

Only DNS8 Preferred was tested.
Not tested: Standard, Professional, Medical, Legal.
Directions MAY also work on DNS version 7.3, but that was not tested.

(1) Copy the contents of your DNS8 disks to a "DNS8" folder in your home folder. There are more complete installation and setup notes on the version 7 entry, many of which will also apply to v10 though expect some differences due to changes in WINE as well as DNS. 

 This should however be a useful reference.
