Additional Comments

1. You need a serial/USB converter with native os x support. I use a keyspan USA-19HE, £20 off eBay. Install the driver (.kext) for OS x 10.6-10.10 from the keyspan website. 2. Install Wine and make note of the wine prefix (the directory name in the user directory, 'Wine Files' as default) 3. Open terminal and run: ls /dev/cu.* Plug in the usb/serial converter and run the same command again, note the 2 new additional devices. One will be cu.KeyspanSerial or similar, the other is cu.aLoadOfJibberish. 4. Add a symbolic link for the serial converter to wine by running the following: ln -s /dev/cu.KeyspanSerial ~/Wine Files/dosdevices/com1 Replace cu.KeyspanSerial with the name of your device from the ls command in step 3 and replace Wine Files with your wine prefix from step 2. 5. Run the dtaswin setup using Wine (right click, open with > Wine) Select 'run directly' and click Go Click through the install, you'll get 2 version conflicts, click yes on them both. You will get 4 errors about ocx files, agauge.ocx and a few others, click ignore on them, we'll fix this in a moment. 6. Open your home folder > Wine Files > drive_c > DTASwin and right click DTASwin.exe and make an alias, call it what you want, I called mine DTASmac. Drag this to your desktop/applications folder/where ever you want to run the application from. 8. Click the wine glass in the menu bar (by the clock) and select Winetricks. 9. Click in the search box in the Winetricks window and type mfc, select fc40 and mfc42, hit 'Apply' 7. Run your new alias, on the pop up make sure run directly is selected and then tick the 'Don't show this dialogue again.' box. Click 'Go'. DTASwin will start, it should pick up com 1 and allow connection to the ecu. If not, select com port 1 from File>serial port options.
