HowTo / Notes

Font Sizes

When opening existing maps, you'll find that the fonts don't render the same size as on Windows.

This can be fixed by changing the font properties of the existing text in the map and unchecking the 'Use New Metrics' option. This should cause the fonts to render the same size (extremely close anyway) as they did on Windows, and they'll still display fine if you open that map in Windows.

You should obviously keep this option off for any new text you place if you want to be able to open the map in Windows and have it look the same.

Thanks to CSANecromancer in the ProFantasy forums for this tip.

Installation doesn't work

I'm finding I can't run the installer to unpack Campaign Cartographer. Is there a workaround for this that you can share?

I don't know unfortunately. For me, it installs fine out of the box.

You are running the downloaded .exe file right under Wine right? I know most desktop environments often love to send the file to Archive Manager instead of Wine.

You get any error messages? Which Linux distro/desktop and Wine version are you running?

You may try asking over at the ProFantasy Community forums (forums.profantasy.com), there is at least a few wine users there, someone might have encountered your issue and know a workaround.
