What works

Single Player Campaign DoW2 + Chaos Rising Multiplayer Custom Private games with one human player and AI players. The Dawn of War 2 and Chaos Rising campaigns can be played through without restrictions. Multiplayer works for custom private games with one human player and other AI players. All graphical settings to the highest value, except Antialiasing, which must be off, at least for ATI opensource drivers.

What does not

Coop Campaign The Last Stand Antialiasing Several missions of the campaign are playable via multiplayer coop (we were able to play 13 missions) but there are a lot of sync errors happening, meaning that the current mission is interupted, counts as lost and you must return to Steam and reload the game. The sync errors are quite random, but there are missions where sync errors happen every time ("Greenskin Armor"). The files are checked via Steam, the network is ok (tested on several days of a month at different times), both players used the same version of the game and Steam (duh!) except one player used Windows and the other used Wine. Continuing the coop missions with a Windows PC instead of Wine works flawlessly and instantly. There is another flaw: as long as the Steam Overlay does not work, you cannot invite other people into games. You can only be invited and have to accept through the Steam Friends window from outside the game. The Last Stand does not work, the missions start but eventually crash, leaving you at level 1. There is no explanation. Antialiasing does not work, it shows a purple out of memory screen in the game menu and graphics glitches, which go away as soon as Antialiasing is disabled. This is not a Linux related bug, Windows users have this as well.

Additional Comments

Steam was installed via winetricks. Single Player can have Gold rating, Multiplayer is Bronze rating at best. You need Mesa 11 + LLVM 3.7 if you are using the opensource ATI graphics, otherwise graphics errors occur, e.g. the ground shows rectangualar textures on highest Terrain Detail. This is fixed in the current development trees or you need to decrease terrain detail. With the latest wine/mesa/llvm versions from the current development trees the demo has 20-90fps with a Radeon R9 270X. With older stable versions the (min) rate goes down to 7-90fps
