Additional Comments

My main issues were with the Windows version of Steam when it came to installing this game. I used winetricks to install Steam and then everything worked fine for downloading and running DoW2. Without using winetricks, the game would lock up after getting through the opening movies, probably due to font issues. I'm running an AMD Radeon graphics card with FGLRX drivers without any issues at all so far. I'm not sure if the open-source drivers will work or not, but I have had issues with them in the past with other benchmark programs, so I'd recommend using FGLRX for now.
