What works

Works fine. All features that worked on Windows 7/8/8.1, work on Ubuntu 15.04, such as:

• Video/audio/input emulation (MAME). Gaming experience at full speed/fps if ROM is a good dump and MAME has compatibility
  
• GUI emulation (wine)
• Emulation speed (MAME)
• Game video/sound recording in AVI/WAV container
• "Save current game list" feature. (in a TXT file)
  
• "Save current ROM list" feature. (in a TXT file)
• "Listen game music with M1FX" feature. (When selected from ROM list, song list doesn't load. Altough, after the M1FX 10.3 module loads, a new game can be selected and the songs for that game will be available). M1FX can also record a WAV file of the actual song in the "sound" directory.
  
• "Add to custom folder" feature

What does not

• ROM auditing works fine, although is a little slow.
• UI navigation is a little slow.
• Slow rendering of window content when maximizing.
• "View ZIP file content" feature doesn't work in WINE yet. It seems that sometimes MAMEUIFX isn't aware of WINE and there's a confusion with directory paths and drive letters.
