What works

Complex software; I suspect that even an expert user (I'm more of a novice) wouldn't use every feature. The basic functions that I checked all seemed to work correctly. Save/Restore, characters, timelines, word counts, etc etc etc.

What does not

• Produces a Java error message at exit every time. Error appears to be associated with the writing targets file (words per day, that sort of thing).
• As noted in an earlier version review, the User Dictionary is not saved correctly. User Dictionary changes are lost. An annoyance, but not the end of the world.

An earlier reviewer asked how to make a desktop launcher icon. The install doesn't make one. I had no problem. Here's the recipe: Create file ~/Desktop/WriteItNow5.desktop with the following six lines of text for the contents: [Desktop Entry] Name=WriteItNow 5 Exec=wine "C:\writeitnow5\writeitnow5.exe" Icon=~/.wine/drive_c/writeitnow5/Application16.png Type=Application Categories=Wine; That should do the trick!
