Installation and drivers.
What does not
MSACCESS.EXE: Text and images on initial dialog (update registration?) are not shown. Only radio buttons and small blank button in the lower-right corner are visible. Clicking the button results in a error dialog:
We can't sign you up for the Microsoft Update service because there's a problem with the service.
Application starts thereafter and the mostly blank dialog is not shown on subsequent executions.
The main application shows only a blank window and a blank toolbar. Side menu is accessible by clicking the colored bar in the upper-left corner but icons and text labels are missing from the buttons so they are essentially invisible. Ribbon icons are momentarily visible prior to application exit.
Tested various add-ons (Direct2D, DirectWrite, etc.) but no improvement. It installs vcrun2010 on its own.
What was not tested
Database usage within main application.
Tested the 32-bit runtime. Since this is only a runtime a database must be specified on the command line else an error dialog is shown (readable) and it exits. It does install the ODBC drivers for Access, Excel, and text-based databases (MDAC 2.8 required to use, winetricks mdac28). I tested the drivers with an mdb database and CuteSQL.
