What does not
What was not tested
Origin was installed with the workaround (see https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=26175) After that Mass Effect installs fine from Origin and starts without further hassle. However on my system sound was not functioning. To work around this, add a dll override for 'openal32' and set it to 'builtin'. After several hours of play sometimes the game will crash with a message that it has ran out of heap space, this has only happened on the Normandy for me. I do not know if this is Wine specific at all.

Get audio to work
Edit "Documents/BioWare/Mass Effect/Config/BIOEngine.ini"
Add the following under the "[ISACTAudio.ISACTAudioDevice]" section:
Ensure "Hardware Audio" is turned off in Sound settings in game
To get the MEUITM installer to work
A custom MassEffectModder.exe must be suppliedThis is seemingly due to it using functions not fully implemented in wine/mono
A hacky, usable version can be found here: https://github.com/DougTy/Mass...
Occasional "rendering exception" error while playing MEIUTM requires your game's binary be large address aware.
MassEffect.exe can be patched using this tool: https://www.techpowerup.com/fo...
Make a backup before patching!
