What works

Using steam for the installation, everything works out of the box.

Upon each launch a small windows pops up asking for configuration or starting the game.

Achievements, Saving, even the steam overlay works.

What does not

The game really seems to suffer from its opengl-implementation. There are numerous questions on Deadalics Forums on performance-problems concerning windows 7 and 8 (apparently it runs better on older systems because some opengl extensions are being phased out).

The game is freezing from time to time (~every 5..10 minutes) for 1..3 minutes. With the steam overlay enabled this triggers more often and for a longer duration. Some people report better performance when "texture compression" is disabled.

Game won't launch - Access violation error 0xC0000005
by Andrew Smart on Thursday July 6th 2017, 15:16
The game won't launch and I get the error:
err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled exception code c0000005 flags 0 addr 0x7e0aa2ea

Changing the windows version, or WINEARCH from win64 to win32 doesn't help.

x64 Debian Jessie, NVIDIA9800GT w/ nvidia driver v340.102. Most recent steam version.

Running dependency walker shows that an opengl dll is the last one loaded, so maybe my issue is there.

Ok, it's a GLU32.dll problem, here is a trace of the relevant thread:

I tried installing glut32 via winetricks but that didn't help. I don't think I'm missing any underlying 32-bit debian packages needed by GLU32. I checked `ldd /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/wine-development/` and many of its dependencies and it all looks good.

Wine version: wine-2.0 (Debian 2.0-3+b2).

Anyone else with this problem let me know. I think the developer (Daedalic Entertainment) is partway through releasing all their games natively under Linux anyway.
