The game never worked from wine 1.7.45 up until wine 1.9.13. Now it runs just the same as before 1.7.45 so no more consistent crash. One has to override with native d3dx9_43.dll and d3dcompiler_43.dll, otherwise it doesn't start. Due to lots of fixme messages, one needs to disable it using WINEPREFIX=fixme-all to make the game run smoothly.
