Additional Comments

No change in performance. A little digging reveals that MyGUI (the GUI render engine) shuts down as soon as it's done initializing. Something, obviously, is causing it to (safely) crash. Apparently, someone else managed to get it to work without issue, using a live openSuse install and opensource radeon drivers: https://youtu.be/5LZPjpLtJ2s

OpenGL 3.3 on Mac?
by Clarence "Sparr" Risher on Sunday November 27th 2016, 20:12
I'm trying to play with Wine 1.9.21 on OSX and having no luck launching the game. I can't get past this dialog:

Scrap Mechanic requires at least OpenGL 3.3 to play.
Your current version (2.1) is not supported.
[OK]

Are there any tricks to get this working on OSX?
How can we get the GUI to be rendered ?
by columini on Sunday April 10th 2016, 8:20
Is there some dependencies that we can/need to download to see the GUI or is there nothing that can be done at the moment ?

I assume you mean game? Is the GUI not rendering for you?

Chances are this lies with the engine, which, I believe, is OGRE (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OGRE)

Ogre supports Linux natively, which I suppose the devs don't feel like supporting at the moment, I imagine they'll release a linux build.

There are other games running on this engine with a WineHQ page, Most of them have mixed or negative results, I'll try some of these soon:

Rigs of Rod: The maintainer has some notes on running it here: appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=26074

Skyscraper Simulator: Like this game, startup/menus work, Crashes on game start: appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=30182

Anyone else with this game, Please try and look for fixes and try these.

EDIT: Tested the Rigs of Rod solution, crashes on startup now, says something about 32-bit code, I can't test it on a 64-bit drive right now, Will do that ASAP
