What works
Installation.
Starting new game.
Gameplay in general.
What does not
Game stops responding after a while - anywhere from 5-15 minutes. This appears to be caused by the game using too many open files.
wine: Unhandled exception 0xe0000008 in thread 1fb at address 00007FB8C7E93023 (thread 01fb), starting debugger...
01fb:err:winediag:FILE_CreateFile Too many open files, ulimit -n probably needs to be increased
I increased ulimit to 65535 and I can still only get ten minutes of gameplay.
Workarounds
Increase ulimit to increase file handle limit. Sadly, this only prolongs the amount of time before the game stops responding. Nothing I do prevents this eventuality, and it is always in less than 30 minutes of game play.
What was not tested
Extended gameplay. Due to the constant crashing after a short period of time, I did not play into later game stages.

Additional Comments
I rate this bronze. The game: "Works, but has some problems for normal use.". I came real close to rating it garbage, but if you really want to you can actually play it. You can play the game if you save often and plan on restarting it every 5-10 minutes.
This is an old problem, it's been there ever since the game was released. I'm going to file a wine bug report and see if anything comes of that.
