DipTrace 3.0 Freeware for non-profit use
32-bit version seems to work ok
64-bit installer fails with  "DipTrace (3.0) is not allowed to run on WinXP" error.
Changing the Windows version from Wine configuration produces same error.
Everything seems to be working as expected.
Tested with Windows 7 version set in winecfg. Installed by running diptrace_en64.exe (64-bit trial version) and models3d.exe (it installs optional 3D models). I was able to create and edit PCB, schematic, libraries and successfully used 3D Preview.
What does not
What was not tested
32-bit version. Most likely it will work as good as 64-bit version. Some rarely used features also were not tested.
When installing models3d.exe I had to change destination directory from "Program Files (x86)" to "Program Files" because I have installed 64-bit DipTrace. Most likely this bug is in models3d.exe and not in Wine. There is a general NVidia issue that Application Profiles do not work with Wine. Instead, I had to export an environment variable to get high-quality 3D rendering: FSAA="(4xSS, 4xMS)"; export __GL_FSAA_MODE=$(nvidia-settings --query=fsaa --verbose | grep "$FSAA" | tail -n1 | sed 's/ *//g' | cut -d- -f1) You can replace "(4xSS, 4xMS)" with any other AA setting you like. With plain Wine you just run this command before running DipTrace. This issue does not matter if you are not going to use 3D Preview or you do not have NVidia card.
