The program executable run fine under Wine, since it was a standard 16-bit Windows program, and just require to install the special Haku Runtime libraries that can be found on this archive:
And extracted to the wineprefix equivalent of c:\windows\system (where the legacy 16-bit libraries are placed.)
It only works the menu selections, the mouse events, and Enter to select a menu option. Hitting Esc will close the program.
Of course, that running the program on Wine are about 20 times faster, and the high quality cartographic maps have much better quality than on original Tandy VIS hardware! (Even on MAME, the map scrolling is painful lagged and the map quality are blurred...)
What does not
It may require an additional joystick key-mapper to handle better the keyboard equivalences of the original Tandy VIS wireless controller.
However, on this title, it only requires to use a single action button: the Enter key to open a menu item or option.
What was not tested
Not so much, actually, the Wikipedia can provide a million time more geographical data that this ancient encyclopedia could even delivered.
Today, is just for detect and fix obscure Windows bugs.
Even MAME can emulate this title and the Tandy VIS machine, it's much better run this title on Wine.
