What works

Everything tutorial patching trading menus cheats battle multiplayer mods multithreading with excellent fps.Used the GOG installer and later the warband patcher updating to v1.67.My gpu is amd with mesa 13.0.0 and gallium3d.See additional comments for wine requirements.

What does not

Installation gives you some runtime errors but they seem more like a glitch than a real issue,m&b cursor slightly flickers sometimes but nothing serious, fonts in the "configure" menu on the launcher look a bit awkward but they work fine, also after you install a mod the "configure" menu tabs all dissapear except the first one,not a problem since you can change everything ingame.

First-person view works in wine 2.13
by Daniel on Saturday August 5th 2017, 4:43
I just upgraded to Wine 2.13, and first-person view (R key) is now working without issues. Everything else still works as before, so now the game is indeed playing perfectly.

Still didn't try modding it, though.
Does not seem to work with wine 2.0
by Richard Thier on Tuesday March 14th 2017, 14:04
I could make this game running with wine 1.8 very well. It was playable on my very old rig when I changed graphics settings to very low, but it started even in the directX 9 mode. Now it seams that this is not working anymore and in the directX7 mode (which at least start) most of the textures are bad. The background pictures of the menu are working, but text is scrambled. Also in-game textures are not showing except some of the very basic ones like the icons for the shield / weapon.

Terrain seem to have only vertex color, units are completely white.

Please fix this... it is an awsome game and it have been working earlier...

PS.: I had to use winetricks in wine 1.8 to install dx9 native libraries. After the update to wine 2.0 it seems these are still installed. Is there any chance I have to redo something? It seems right...
