What works

Almost everything: I played for 10h+ already and so far didn't encounter any game-breaking bugs.

What does not

First-person view: when pressing R to switch to first-person view, the screen freezes, but the game keeps running normally.

Pressing R again returns to third-person view. It is only a visual glitch. I'm rating Platinum despite this glitch because it is not essential to gameplay.

Workarounds

What was not tested

Finishing the game, some kinds of missions (e.g. siege).

Additional Comments

Make sure to have proper texture support (ST3C/DXT), e.g. by installing related packages (libtxc_dxtn.i686 on Fedora), otherwise the game may crash after the introductory cutscene, with a message "Unable to open texture file Textures\font.dds". Also, there is an issue related to using Alt+Tab (possibly unrelated to Wine, but I can't test on a Windows, and it is useful to know nevertheless): the game keeps the Alt key "locked", so afterwards it is impossible for instance to use the "Leave" button. It may also manifest itself by being unable to equip items on the inventory screen. Pressing and releasing Alt should make it work again.

First-person view works in wine 2.13
by Daniel on Saturday August 5th 2017, 4:43
I just upgraded to Wine 2.13, and first-person view (R key) is now working without issues. Everything else still works as before, so now the game is indeed playing perfectly.

Still didn't try modding it, though.
Does not seem to work with wine 2.0
by Richard Thier on Tuesday March 14th 2017, 14:04
I could make this game running with wine 1.8 very well. It was playable on my very old rig when I changed graphics settings to very low, but it started even in the directX 9 mode. Now it seams that this is not working anymore and in the directX7 mode (which at least start) most of the textures are bad. The background pictures of the menu are working, but text is scrambled. Also in-game textures are not showing except some of the very basic ones like the icons for the shield / weapon.

Terrain seem to have only vertex color, units are completely white.

Please fix this... it is an awsome game and it have been working earlier...

PS.: I had to use winetricks in wine 1.8 to install dx9 native libraries. After the update to wine 2.0 it seems these are still installed. Is there any chance I have to redo something? It seems right...
