What works
Installation, patching, main parts of the game, the editor to a certain point.
What does not
Few issues, firstly the music doesn't work and the folder needs to be removed/renamed for the game to start. The videos don't play so you need to select "cancel to all" when it asks. Pixel Shaders are still messy in-game so best to disable them to avoid graphical weirdness. Shadows are also rendered as solid white so they need to be turned off. The editor seems to work but badly suffers from the OpenGL child window bug making it hard to use, it also crashes when you try and save rendering it useless for the time being. The main problem with the game is that it seems to crash at random when you perform some sort of action, maybe picking something up or entering an area.
Workarounds
What was not tested
Comprehensive game-play due to crashes.

About windows getting minimized, the workaround is pretty simple : the MenuStates of the .ini file is reset everytime you launch the game, which causes it to define minimized windows. What you need to do is chmod it to read-only (chmod 444 does the trick) after having changed the MenuStates parameters to suitable window sizes.
I got it to work with around 50 mods, the thing is the .ini file needs to update the modlist, so you first need to run Morrowind with a writable .ini file (chmod 644 works like a charm), then you can kill the process immediately afterwards (wineserver -k after Ctrl+Alt+F1 for instance), chmod the .ini to 444 after checking the MenuStates section is still well and about, and launch the game !
