What works

MusicBee works quite well almost everything i tried seems to work, from theming to playback works except the file converter tab , the overall ram usage is quite low as well which was around 400-500mb. And that is with over 13k music in the database and actively playing music going fully to ram.

The settings import and panel import work fine,All the visualization i tried work flawlessly it may be placebo but i feel its a bit less responsive on wine than on windows but that is a minor issue

online album scraping works fine too but when the file is getting updated with the album art the entire app will lag.Quite likely its a limitation of my storage tho (tested on a 256gb sd card and a 512gb hdd)

What does not

if you delete the musicbee folder in your home/user/music folder the
musicbee start up scanner will not function and will crash musicbee and
wine. So dont do that .

Without gdi plus installed the app will work, but every 5 mins or so you will get a ram overflow as musicbee will end up consuming over 1.3 gb of ram,plus app will lag quite a lot and album art wont be seen on the main screen.

Workarounds

For Musicbee to function properly only use 32 bit prefix whatever happens dont use 64bit, i tried and failed to get it working on a 64bit prefix but both gdi plus and dot net 48 wont properly run on 64bit.

Default font wont work japanese characters hence change the font to meiryo, if you are unable to change the font to meiryo, install the app and change your font to meiryo in windows and then go to user/*yourusername*/appdata/ and copy the local and roaming musicbee folder onto .wine's corresponding folders (they should have an identical structure to windows. and then relaunching musicbee app should will have switched to meiryo(of course install all fonts or directly drop in the meiryo font pack in the .wine/drivec/windows./fonts folder.

Also be sure to install these 3 dlls dotnet48,xmllite,gdiplus these are the only required ones and all fonts is a nice to have if the default font doesnt support your required language(the meiryo trick works with other fonts too if you are unable to change the font from musicbee itself)

What was not tested

I have not tested wine asio on it but intend to,i haven't checked the devices sub menu in preferences either but earlier posts indicate it does not work.

Additional Comments

the cpu usage on a 5800 is sub 5 percent, scrolling is smooth but not as smooth as in musicbee but rarely ever stutter, but it does also stutter on windows at times!
