What works

Everything except the settings submenu file converter (it is said to have workarounds but i havent tested it)

What does not

filer converter submenu crashes the app when opened.

Workarounds

There does exist issues in regards to wine-tricks where you do need to create a 32bit prefix, but it does not recognize it to be so,hence installing some of the required dependencies namely xmllite , gdiplus dotnet 48, dotnet 20 vcrun6, 2015 2022 and mfc 2015 and 2006(fairly certain this is all you need), you will get errors stating the file was installed but the files for sysWOW64 were not found, these issues can be ignored as winetricks seems to think of the 32bit prefix the same way as the 64bit prefix.

Also to note is cabextract 1.10 is non functional whether others are not working idk, so whilst installing these dependencies downgrade to a lower version of cabextract i for that matter installed 1.9.7.

For many non english music the names will not show up correctly this is due to tahoma(the default font) not having the ability to render the said Chinese and Japanese don't function for example with tahoma, hence you need to install meiryo (for japanese)or  other preferred font for the some languages to work.

What was not tested

the online radio functionality and  the lyrics capabilities were not tested

Hardware tested

Graphics:

  • GPU: Nvidia
  • Driver: proprietary

Additional Comments

i honestly was shocked to find out MusicBee ran smoother on wine than on windows the scrolling on wine much smoother.

other than a few issues it has been extremely smooth

All theming work but its recommended to not skin the window borders as it ruins the overall cohesive look of the desktop.

Also highly recommended to change the position of the main menu to below the caption bar. This option can be found in preferences
