The installer starts, and all tests work correctly.

What does not

• Installing

The installer fails with:

wine: Cannot start DOS application "D:\\COPYMEGS.EXE"
      because vm86 mode is not supported on this platform.
wine client error:1f: write: Bad file descriptor
err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled exception code c0000005 flags 0 addr 0x7d791c9e

• The game

The correct command to run the game is:

cd /media/cdrom0
wine SIERRAW.EXE -o "C:\SIERRA\SQ6\RESOURCE.WIN"

 Assuming that /media/cdrom0 is where you mounted the Space Quest 6 CD and you installed the game to C:\SIERRA\SQ6. You should also be able to use the RESOURCE.WIN off the install disc.

It will then crash spectacularly with:

wine: Unhandled exception 0x80000003 at address 0x1357:0x000035f7 (thread 000d), starting debugger...

or something similar
