Installed easily enough and the drawing and painting tools work the same as on Windows 7, I recreated my old brushes and imported SAI files made on my Windows computer with no problem.
Since I actually bought SAI years ago, I downloaded a legit license file for this computer and got it installed under ~/.wine/drive_c/PaintToolSAI/ with no trouble.
I exported one SAI file to a PSD and opened in Krita with no problems.
What does not
Pen pressure! I'm sure this is a lack of driver support in WINE, since on Win7 the drivers will randomly quit working (it's happened to me and friends two or three times each) and without pen pressure it's just a glorified MS Paint. If there is a way to fix this then it would be gold, but this is a vital thing for an artist so silver seems appropriate given the rest works fine.
What was not tested
I don't think I missed anything.

The pen pressure bug IS NOT a driver bug.
Krita works perfectly out of the box and it's using the drivers already shipped with the kernel.
Old SAI1 is ONLY 32-bit.
