The game version available through Steam:
- Wine Staging works better.
What does not
- At the end of Chapter 1 it tries to install/verify something, this process may crash a few time before succeeding (gameux).
What was not tested
- I did a short gameplay.
Steam installs the game and its components just fine! The game runs fine but after the end of Chapter 1 (a Mafioso arrives on a tank) the game exit and steam tries to install something. This may fail (it fails twice to me) with Steam pointing out a server issue. On the terminal this error can be seen: fixme:gameux:GameExplorerImpl_VerifyAccess (0xc9a198, L"C:\\SteamLibrary\\steamapps\\common\\Mafia\ II\\pc\\GamesExplorerGDF.dll", 0x32ea3c) IPC client is in my process, could/should be using an in-process pipe. The game won't continue if this component doesn't properly install, if it fails just redo the first chapter and make "gameux" install. Than the game runs fine and you can continue through the story :) Wine Staging makes the game run better! ~·~·~·~·~ I uploaded some screenshots (comparing Wine vs Wine Staging) on my blog: https://manerosss.wordpress.com/2016/06/12/gamingonlinux/ ~·~·~·~·~ Antergos + OpenBox Nvidia 367.35 Wine 1.9.14 Gallium Nine (AUR) Phenom II x2 511 Gainward GTX 650 1gb 4gb ddr3 500GB HDD 7200 rpm
