Refer to the Glyph Installer entry for more troubleshooting.
I highly recommend a dedicated prefix for this game, but everything works perfectly once it's set up.
Don't install through Steam or you'll likely have to re-download everything to use the Glyph workaround.
Install Glyph with Windows version set to XP. I believe the installer won't run without winetricks directx9, though you could try d3dx9(_*). You probably also need winetricks vcrun2012 and vcrun 2013.
After Glyph is installed, navigate to where GlyphDownloader.exe is and mv it to Downloader.exe. Then change Windows version to 7. Finally, run Downloader.exe and Devilian should be available for download.
I believe the game also requires winetricks devenum, but I think that gets pulled in already.
My exact winetricks are: corefonts d3dx9 directx9 devenum fontsmooth=rgb tahoma vcrun2012 vcrun2013 - additonally there are some w_workarounds that will be possibly pulled in. The d3dx* and vcrun* crap seems to break a lot of other games, hence the separate prefix.
Performance is about the same as Windows on my Intel HD 4000, totally playable.
What does not
Unlike Windows, the password is not saved after exiting the launcher because some service stops running. Messing around with DLL overrides causes you to need to re-authenticate with an e-mail code.
What was not tested
I haven't tested the in-game shop.
Good luck! Make sure that you renamed GlyphDownloader.exe to Downloader.exe, not just copied it.
