What works

Most of what Analyst provides requires the professional version and a  connection to a supported Cochran dive computer.

  • Extract/View missions from dive computer
  • View Mission  statistics
  • View Profile graphs
  • View/Modify Configuration of dive computer

To connect to a USB dive computer you need to:

  • Build and install wineftdxx and follow its README to set udev rules
  • Manually unload the ftdi_sio kernel module after you connect the USB cable. 
  • Run Analyst4 manually using a command line like this
    FDTID=6001 wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Analyst4/AnalystP.exe

What does not

Analyst4 Crashes often when modifying dive computer configuration. This also happens often when I run it in Windows. It seems to be odd because Cochran support doesn't mention it as a known issue.
