As with older versions, the game has a hard requirement for an active loopback network interface. Should one not be found, it will not launch.
Ensure you have a loopback network interface set up. If your OS doesn't have one configured, `ifconfig lo up` should be enough. Conventional OS installers (e.g. official ISOs) usually take care of this automatically.
What was not tested
Although the game continues to suffer from microstutters whenever assets are being loaded, running it with __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=1 appears to slightly lessen their severity.
Running the game with its assets unpacked resulted in a significant performance improvement across the board, with less frequent and shorter-lived microstutters and a visibly increased average framerate. This is likely due to the game engine no longer needing to waste CPU cycles decompressing resources on the fly.
DXVK has no visible effect on performance.
