The emulator opens and loads games, running at about the same speed as on a Windows partition. Using the mouse as the touch screen works fine.
I tested four games: Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.
Graphics are about on-par with the Windows version. Certain graphical elements in all games seem to be a little washed out, but it doesn't affect the gameplay experience. Textures are garbled when using default settings; turning off "Enable compressed textures" under Debug fixes it. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has a graphical glitch that leaves DK invisible, which doesn't happen on Windows.
What does not
Certain games will stop loading for no discernible reason, instead crashing upon opening., which can be fixed by using a "clean" Cemu instance and copying over saves, keys and settings files from the old one.
Saving the controller configuration crashes the emulator, though the configured controls will be successfully saved. If there is an Xbox 360 controller configuration set on a Windows machine (as was the case with me,) it will crash the emulator upon opening -- simply deleting "settings.bin" from the Cemu folder will allow you to start with a blank slate.Â
What was not tested
The hundreds of other Wii U games I don't own.
Works surprisingly well.
