What works

The game installs, although with a "runtime error at 69:599" message.

The game starts up to the main menu, with graphics, sound effects and music.

The configuration options are reduced to their sliding bars.

By renaming the xinput1_3.dll bundled with the game, a gamepad can be used (my wine installation has xinput support)

When starting a new game, the progress wheel moves a bit then stucks.

Or this version should be really for GOTY edition, which includes all extensions installed.
