A code change since Serato 1.8 prevents Serato from running correctly.
This code change involves a switch from a normal GUI interface to an OpenGL(Direct3D)-based one, presumably for increased waveform responsiveness.
Tested with the following libraries installed through winetricks: d3dx9 d3dx10 wininet vcrun2013 vcrun2012 vcrun2010 (one of the VC++ Redistributables is required to make the application run). <- All might not be needed, though some are required for the program to show the "GUI" and not simply crash before startup spitting an error.
Wine windows version: Windows 10. Serato does not install with Windows XP. When running it, the same problem is present in all windows versions.
The program runs and loads quicktime and some requirements, but when loading the UI, it is just a gray screen. The "Update/Buy Serato" dialog (presented at the first run) does render perfectly though, which means it's a bug regarding the OpenGL/D3D rendering and not other parts of the code.
This wine bug is about to be filed.
