What works

Open Catalog, Import, Develop, Export, Book

What does not

About Dialog crashes

Export Dialog has black areas, but works apart from that

Some minor graphic issues during usage, e.g. some parts of the UI are always on top of the desktop, when LR is open in the background.

Workarounds

New to Wine, so I tried a lot of things that did not work, this is my config when it finally installed.

I used wine 3.0.4 for installation.

Installed packages with winetricks:

  • atmlib
  • gdiplus
  • mfc42
  • msasn1
  • msxml3
  • msxml6
  • vcrun2008
  • vcrun2010
  • vcrun2012
  • corefonts

Wine Configuration:

  • Win7
  • All Library overrides to "(native/builtin)" except for msxml3 and windowscodecs to "(builtin/native)"

There is most likely a better way to deal with the errors that I saw during installation and only a few things mentioned above are actually needed.

I logged into my adobe account in the installer. After installation, I copied the sRGB color profile, as everyone else.

LR then wanted to create a catalog, but crashed immediately afterwards. Then I switched to wine 4.0-rc3 and it started.

To get the latest version of LR, I needed to update the Adobe Application Manager first, then LR afterwards. It was not possible to do both at the same time, as you would expect it to do.

What was not tested

Everything Else ;)

Hardware tested

Graphics:

  • GPU: Intel
  • Driver: open source

Mouse anomalies
by Gábor Baráth on Tuesday September 22nd 2020, 10:11
I experienced some annoying problems with the mouse event propagation. If mouse cursor leave the Tone curves box it does not receive any event when you release the left button. Same problem occurs when using the Crop tool, and I bet the same cause that the scroll does not work over the panels (but working then the cursor is over the header of the panel).
Is there any suggestion to deal with it?
