What does not
Game does not detect that it's been launched through the launcher
launcher crashes on staging versions of wine
The game requires that it be run through the launcher, but does not detect that it's been launched that way in wine. The following lines will patch the game so that it will run either through the launcher or when launched by itself.

Additionally the launcher will crash on wine-staging due to this bug which can be worked around by running
sudo chmod -x /opt/wine-staging/bin/wine-preloader
This isn't necessary on non staging versions of wine, or if you don't use the launcher.
What was not tested
Finishing the game
install dinput8 xact and d3dcompiler_43 with winetricks, and use a 32 bit wineprefix
Sometimes the audio starts to pop, closing the game, restarting pulseaudio and relaunching the game seems to fix it.
