HowTo / Notes

Tips and Tricks
  • Make sure Vulkan drivers are installed, both 32 and 64 bit versions. If on Debian, you can run:
    • apt install mesa-vulkan-drivers mesa-vulkan-drivers:i386
  • The Prefix can be made using Lutris. Go to, find Origin and install it with DXVK. Once installed, right click on it from the Lutris window, and click on "Configure". Go to "Runner options" tab and find the box named "DXVK version", click on it and type a more recent version number. Save. Mine was on 0.63. I deleted 3 and put 4 to get the latest version (0.64 at the time of writing). It worked.
  • Using WINE by itself works as well. Just download and install DXVK in your prefix and you should be fine. If using an NVIDIA card, set "nvapi" and "nvapi64" DLLs to disabled in your winecfg [credit: Wolfe] (They are already set to disabled if using Lutris)
  • Having DXVK is a must. The game runs with wined3d but the rendering will be messy and incomplete [as of wine 3.13]. With DXVK it would be near perfect; it MAY happen that random colors show up in a small area on the screen where there are candles much near the point of view or The Breach is in sight. It does not always happen.
    • After the game is fully downloaded, the Play button may be greyed out. To fix that, click on the gear icon and select Repair. After the repair is done, the Play button should be active.
