64-bit prefix
by Tod Jackson on Wednesday October 11th 2017, 2:38
Hi again. Winetricks from current git can install dotnet40 on a 64-bit prefix. I confirmed it works with the Smite installer on the non-Steam version.
I needed an additional winetrick

What Sybil has written is spot on. As long as the listed winetricks are installed, especially dotnet40 in a 32-bit Windows XP prefix, the game will eventually install. I had to kill processes during prerequisites install 5+ times, but eventually it got through.

However, I also had to add another registry tweak so that I could completely rotate my character: winetricks grabfullscreen=y

Performance is a little lower than on Windows, but as I have an Intel HD 4000, you might not notice too much with beefier hardware. Also, I was too afraid to test the new D3D 11 in-game option. ;)
