What does not
Most of the time windows appear behind the main game screen
Sometimes the Save game, Options and Quit Game windows appear behind the window after pressing esc.
Workarounds
Press F3 (on mac) and click the game.
May need to even do it twice if it doesnt appear
For the Save game and options click and press f3. then drag the window to a side.
For quit game, Press ctrl + Q.
