To get sound working: -download directx8 http://www.brothersoft.com/directx-8.0-for-win2000-download-51962.html -extract the resulting DirectX80NTeng.exe with cabextract -copy just dsound.dll to $WINEPREFIX/drive_c/windows/system32 -set dsound to native in winecfg
