What works

Most functionality, including:

• audio
• menus
• application settings
• shutdown
• chat
• matchmaking
• Power Tower
• Solo Challenge modes
• guild view

performance is excellent at "The Bad" graphics settings (a few steps below "Glorious")

What does not

Issues:

a. Alt-tabbing breaks the input, so the game continues running, but will no longer recognize clicks or keypresses

b. Same exact hardware gets a big performance hit at maxed settings, compared to running off Windows 7 Home x64. Setting at just Medium also seems sluggish, on my Athlon II X4 645 machine

c. Steam matter exclusively: activating the app function "Friends & Chat" causes Steam to loop crash repeatedly this one window. Additionally a Steam client might need the minion masters installation to exist (this is what I used) if it cannot display the Store page properly. Therefore if you have this issue you probably are also faced with not being able to install the game through the gui of Steam as was the case with me. Ask a Steam expert how else you can get it in.

Workarounds

Issue workarounds:

a. None

b. simply put, lowering the graphics setting makes the game competitively playable.

c. Running Steam.exe with the undocumented -nofriendslist switch appears to negate the problem of the crashing buddy list window.
