What works
1. Installer works smoothly on i386 CentOS 6.5. Used "Wine Software Installer-Uninstaller" and slipstreamed MS Office XP (PLK language version, MOLP licence) with Service Pack 3, CD-ROM made from the oryginal with serial number included. All CD files copied to a temp directory for convenience. Custom installation: Word, Excel and PowerPoint only with no Access, no Outlook.
2. Menu Wine->Programs->... opens Apps.
3. Can add lanchers to panel and desktop by right-clicking in Wine->Programs->...
4. Can run (create and open):
Applications -> Wine -> Create_New_Document
Applications -> Wine -> Open_New_Document
5. Compatibility Pack installed with no problems: FileFormatConverters.exe (v4_2010-01-06) and compatibilitypacksp3-kb2526297-fullfile-pl-pl.exe (v1_2011-10-25)What does not

Office 2002/XP does not install due to bug 5163. This bug is unlikely to ever be fixed.
The platinum test reports above are from users who had slipstreamed, volume licensed installers that did not ask for a registration key, and hence were not affected by bug 5163. Unless you have such a copy, you will not be able to install Office XP in Wine.
For the determined, there is a hack/patch attached to bug 5163. It will not apply to current Wine; you will have to get the source for 1.0.1, patch it, and pray that it compiles on a modern system (it might not). This hack is unsupported; use at your own risk.
Test reports that do not follow these guidelines will be rejected.
