Patched version with 3Dfx Glide Functionality (Voodoo Card Emulation)
Commonly used to run an entire Microsoft Windows 9x "Virtualization" with 3D Functionality.
- Full-screen Mode
- Inside windows 9x emulation:
- 3D Acceleration
*Fast By Using DosBox OpenGL Mode
*Slow by using D3D
*In Both cases use double buffer or 3D rendering will be totally glitched.
- MIDI (Sometimes it works fine for the entire session, sometimes music sounds weird)
What does not
- Inside MS-DOS emulation (MS Windows Startup disks):
- Windows 9X Setup (Get random and unexpected Errors)
What was not tested
Other DOSBox functionalities (Shaders, Filters etc)
Other functionalities inside Microsoft DOS (using the MS Windows startup disks)
*This version of DOSBox can be useful to play that games that requires MS-Windows to run and are too old or yet incompatible with wine (those from DirectX5 era). *I recommend to use official versions of DOSBox to run games or applications that doesn't require windows. *I got almost the double of frames per second during benchmarks on this same machine, same ubuntu, but upgraded wine from 2.0.1 to 2.10, however, 3D graphics were glitched if double buffer was not enabled.
