Install directx_36 then after installing in wine settings choose windows 98 in wine properties. On staging tab choose enable_CSMT and hide wine version from application. Then run config.exe in the game directory and on Geeral tab set Select in-game full motion video playback to none. On Display tab choose your screen resolution, make sure it matches your wine resolution.
