The earlier versions of BlackBox were created and published by Oms (Oberon microsystems AG) in commercial and "free for educational use" versions. The original version was called Oberon/F, with the name BlackBox Component Builder adopted later. The final Oms version is a free and open source (The 2-Clause BSD License). Version 1.6 dated 11-October-2013.
Since then an organization of volunteers called the "BlackBox Framework Center" has formed to maintain and develop the Software.
The current stable Center release is Version 1.7.1.
All features works wine. Even OpenGL now can be drawn inside AUX windows, that was not possible for Wine version less than 3.0.
What does not
What was not tested
Sql and COM features.
Fonts require Rgba anti-aliasing rendering mode in GNOME extra settings panel.
With Grayscale mode the standard Arial italic font and menus labels looks bad.

Drag'n'pick is an useful method to transfer character attributes to a selection. It uses Alt key after select the target for the changes. However Alt is often used for windows management in GNU/Lunux.
But it works nicely, if you unselect managed Windows in winecfg for this application. Alternatively the key for windows management can be changed:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences mouse-button-modifier "<Super>"
