FL Studio 12.5 features a number of changes, most visible of which is the Pattern picker, allowing you to quickly drag patterns onto the playlists. This offered the opportunity of a one-click pattern freeze.
A couple more plugins have been "vectorized", amongst which are Harmor and FPC.
A new "tape" delay plugin has been added, dubbed Fruity Delay 3, available for free on all editions of the software. And finally, Transistor Bass sees an update of its audio engine, bringing it closer to the True Thing.
For a complete (21 minute) overview of the changes, talk to The Guru: FL Studio 12.5 - What's New.
Tested on a low spec PC (1GHz dual core and 2 GB RAM).
Everything works smoothly on 64 bit, wine-rt, on lubuntu with lowlatency and liquorix kernels. It works even better than on a windows 7 32 bit install on the same computer.
On the generic kernel FL is slower than on windows 7 32 bit, having xruns when playing many voices.
IL remote works with very low latency.
What does not
All related to advanced graphics.
Wavecandy is distorted but works, and is sometime unresponsive to move/resize.
The logo at the beginning has a black margin, but disappears normally.
What was not tested
VST plugins and MIDI.
